2 cups cabbage, chopped
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
For the Sauce:
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce (adjust to taste)
1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
Optional Garnish:
Green onions, chopped
Sesame seeds
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken pieces and cook until golden brown and cooked through about 5–6 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Step 2: Stir-fry the Vegetables
In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil.
Sauté the garlic and ginger until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Add the cabbage, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp.
Step 3: Make the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, chili garlic sauce, honey (or brown sugar), and sesame oil.
Stir in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce.
Step 4: Combine and Serve
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the vegetables.
Pour the sauce over the stir-fry and toss to coat evenly. Cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce thickens and everything is heated through.
Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles and enjoy this spicy, satisfying dish!
