Deliciousness! Even after 7 years, it’s still a hit! People always want me to whip this up

Whipped lemonade is a delightful treat that has roots in the refreshing roadside stands so common in the Midwest during the scorching summer months. With just a handful of ingredients, you can create a creamy, tangy drink that evokes the simplicity and joy of those good old days. This recipe is perfect for your next family gathering or just as a quick pick-me-up on a hot day.

Whipped lemonade is a fantastically versatile drink. It pairs beautifully with a classic picnic spread – think fried chicken, coleslaw, and cornbread. For a more indulgent treat, serve it alongside a slice of lemon meringue pie or a simple sugar cookie. It’s also delightful on its own as a refreshing afternoon delight

Whipped Lemonade

Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4-5 lemons)

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup cold water

2 cups ice cubes

1 cup heavy whipping cream

Lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Directions

1. In a blender, combine the fresh lemon juice, granulated sugar, and cold water. Blend until the sugar is fully dissolved.

2. Add the ice cubes to the blender and blend until the mixture is frothy and the ice is crushed.

3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until it forms soft peaks.

4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the lemon mixture until well combined and creamy.

5. Pour into glasses, garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves if desired, and serve immediately.

Variations & Tips

If you’re feeling a bit adventurous, try adding a splash of vanilla extract or a handful of fresh berries before blending. For a slightly different twist, you could use lime juice instead of lemon juice – the result is just as refreshing. For a dairy-free version, substitute coconut cream for heavy whipping cream; it adds a lovely hint of tropical flavor.
